This dock was built using fiberglass pilings and composite decking. The thriving marsh was untouched during construction thanks to our
Green Machine™.
one of our Dockrider systems run by solar energy in Georgia
This SunDock/DockRider™ system in coastal Georgia uses solar panels to power the DockRider™ while the rail system of the SunDock™ lets light through to the wetland vegetation below.

Green Heron Docks offers several eco-friendly solutions for those who want to enjoy dock life but are concerned with the environmental impact.

Our innovative Green Machine™ allows us to build and repair docks without damaging sensitive marine and wetland environments. Because it supports itself from the dock as it builds, the Green Machine™ leaves the surrounding environment virtually untouched. Other construction methods can damage much of the vegetation around and under the dock, killing precious wildlife and destroying sensitive habitats.

The SunDock/Dockrider™ system, offers another lever of environmental protection. With its minimal surface area, The SunDock/DockRider™ system significantly decreases the damaging effects of cumulative shading on the riparian ecosystem below your dock. Traditional docks prevent sunlight from reaching this area. For this reason, it is very hard to obtain permits to build docks through preserved marsh and wet lands. But with our SunDock/DockRider™ technology, permits are easier to obtain.

Offering fiberglass pilings and composite decking gives our clients more ways to be green. Pearson’s® fiberglass pilings have no chemical coatings to leach into the water and their extremely long lifespan means they will be a permanent part of your waterfont property and stay out of the landfill. BestDeck’s® composite decking is made using 100% recycled materials and will need less replacement than wood decking.
